What We Do

A small company based in Washington, DC, we offer authors personalized service, focusing on only a select few titles each year. Authors are hands-on and involved throughout the production process from consultations about edits to the manuscript to choosing the cover design of their novel. Books are produced in print and e-book formats, and are distributed through Ingram, Baker & Taylor, Amazon.com, Kindle and Nook devices and other retailers. We offer competitive royalty agreements along with subsidy, co-publishing contracts that make it possible to turn more writers into published authors.

Are We For You

As an independent publisher, we are not influenced or controlled by the Big Six publishing houses and can offer authors another avenue for publication. Indie publishers are responsible for almost half the books published annually. But signing with an independent publisher isn't for everyone. If you are passionate about the story you have to tell, a self-starter and not opposed to some guerilla-style marketing to get your book into the hands of the masses, Pen & Pad Publishing may be the place for you to stop dreaming about becoming a published author and to actually make it happen.
